The simulation hypothesis proposes that all of our existence is a simulated reality, such as a computer simulation. I personally think that looking at it like The Matrix movie and a computer generated simulation is a bit hard to understand. It is easier to look through the lens of physics and understand it as a Quantum Field where all possibilities exist at the same time. Your consciousness is what influences the subatomic fabric of reality. Elon Musk is one of the perfect examples of bending the universe and creating your own reality.
On the surface, From a purely empirical standpoint, the answer seems obvious. Reality is anything we can perceive using one or more of the five senses: taste, smell, touch, hearing and sight. But as The Matrix suggests, these physical senses are only electrical signals your brain is picking up. There is something much deeper going on, and Elon Musk is showing us the way.
